Hospitalizations
PA counties with full ICU beds due to covid:
PA-wide hospital census: Using 17633 med/surg beds, 580 more than last week, 25 more than 2 weeks ago.
Overall, cases have been flat since a bit before Labor Day; last week's drop was likely just reporting noise. However, there's a modest drop in hospitalizations apparent over the last two weeks in Allegheny County that looks real.
We don't have data from the state or CDC on uptake of the updated bivalent covid boosters yet, so it's hard to speculate when we should start seeing an effect (if any) from those. Hopefully they'll get that available in a week or two.
